yeah..matchbox 20's song is in my head
been unwell lately
had tonsillitis last week
quoting 'doctors are the worst patients'
yep,
i ignored my symptoms for a day until suddenly i thot, hey, let's take a look at my tonsils
voila!
it looked similar to this-->
not so nasty as mine, though
tonsillitis is an inflammation of the tonsils
caused by mostly virus and also bacteria and sometimes both
common symptoms include
i prescribed myself a course of augmentin
drank plenty of aqua
and back to work after 2 days on leave
(despite not having adequate rest since the boys were enjoying my presence at home *;))
and now my tonsils are like this!
I'm sure u have heard people underwent tonsillectomy
why?when?

So, despite the 'unwellness' ,
now we gained a lil bit of knowledge regarding our tonsils :)

A tonsillectomy may be recommended to prevent frequent, recurring episodes of tonsillitis. Frequent is generally defined as:
- More than five to seven episodes in one year
- More than four episodes a year over two years
- More than three episodes a year over three years
The procedure may also be recommended if:
- A bacterial infection causing tonsillitis doesn't improve with antibiotic treatment
- An infection that results in a collection of pus behind a tonsil (tonsillar abscess) doesn't improve with drug treatment
